The Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS) launched the Somali Youth Hub, an initiative of Minister Barre, to create an inclusive digital space for Somali youth to engage, network, and share their voices. Zifala supported this national initiative on a pro bono basis, taking the project from concept and user journey mapping to full website design and execution.

The Chalange
MOYS wanted to create a digital youth space, but there was no existing platform that catered specifically to Somali youth needs, aspirations, or engagement. There was also no clear roadmap, layout, or content structure—requiring the project to start from scratch and be designed in an inclusive, youth-friendly, and visually engaging way.
What Zifala Did
Zifala worked closely with MOYS and consulted with youth organizations to capture their needs and expectations. We created a concept layout and user journey for the Somali Youth Hub, designed with simplicity and accessibility in mind. The platform was built using WordPress and Elementor Pro, ensuring easy management by MOYS teams. The site features youth-driven content areas, forums, idea submission forms, and sections highlighting stories, programs, and opportunities for Somali youth. Zifala provided hands-on support in design, technical development, content structuring, and user testing, all done pro bono as part of our commitment to social impact.
